My name is Drew Miller and I am running from Long Beach, California to Spencer, West Virginia to raise money and awareness for the Wounded Warrior Project, which benefits injured military veterans returning from overseas. This run is also to honor all military personnel, past and present, for their sacrifices to this country. Third, this run is a personal journey. I hope you enjoy it.

Day 93: Is This Kansas, or the Earth's Core?!
Wasn't it supposed to be a little cooler today? Didn't happen. Not only was it not cooler, it was hotter, with no wind at all, and it was hot as soon as the run started. I think I was hallucinating by the end of the 20 miles. And yes, I said 20 miles. I know I said I had to finish 25 miles today. Apparently, I was wrong. It honestly felt like I was running in an oven all day. By mile 17, I started getting a headache. By mile 18, my hips started to ache and my legs started getting very weak. By mile 19, I had officially hit the "wall". I knew I was getting close to heat exhaustion, so I had to make the decision to stop for the day, because it was only getting hotter. Mom and I were talking it over and trying to remember if I have had one day in Kansas under 100 degrees. We couldn't come up with one. I believe there was hot lava seeping out of my pores today. It's a shame the weather has been so miserably hot through Kansas, because I've had a great time here sans the running. Gonna take full advantage of the rest day tomorrow. By the end of the next set of four, I will be in Missouri. I think I'll call ahead and tell them to turn on the AC.
