My name is Drew Miller and I am running from Long Beach, California to Spencer, West Virginia to raise money and awareness for the Wounded Warrior Project, which benefits injured military veterans returning from overseas. This run is also to honor all military personnel, past and present, for their sacrifices to this country. Third, this run is a personal journey. I hope you enjoy it.

Judy/Mom/Road Crew Comments
As we drove down to the Veteran's Memorial Pier at Belmont, my jitters were worse than Andrew's. We spent some time with photo-journalist, Diendra Jay, of the Long Beach Press Telegram and he started running about 9:45. We got to our meeting with CDR Jim Craycraft, Executive Officer at Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station just on time at noon. Thanks to Gregg Smith, Public Affairs Officer, for making arrangements. I had stopped twice to wait for Drew as he crossed the base and both times an officer checked to see what was up--these people are doing their jobs! Got hot this afternoon so Drew took a long break in the parking lot of the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, CA, while I toured the amazing cathedral, open-walled visitor center and rest area, opulent bathrooms and beautiful statuary gardens! This happens to be the stopping point for day 1.
