Mom's View --Dale to St. Meinrad, IN

St. Meinrad Archabbey is one of the 2 archabbeys in the United States and 11 in the world. This Benedictine community began in 1854.

About 100 monks guided by the Benedictine motto "pray and work" operate the St. Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology, Abbey Press, Abbey Caskets, a guest house and a retreat program.


One mile east of the archabbey is the Monte Cassino Shrine, a lovely pilgrimage site.

Ron Patel at the Lincoln Land Inn Best Western gave us a rate that made it possible for us to be inside tonight and near tomorrow's start point on route 62; Mandy and Abbey helped.
